Wow Love it!! June 25, 2010 Mr. S. E. Alfred (London) Got this this morning, and it's been going ever since, I love it!!! Never thought I could get such a great sound out of a set of computer speakers. Not really using it for that using it more for my ipod than my computer. It's got some power and a nice clean mostly distortion free sound. Naturally once the speaker have been used a bit they will give me a much warmer sound but no complaints so far. I would highly recommend this system to anyone wishing to have something that packs a punch. I enjoy my music running a nakamichi, set up with onkyo amp and the biggest mourdant short speakers you have ever seen. Compared to that this system is very very good.
Quality! June 25, 2010 Anthony Hold (Cheshunt, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Best buy yet for my computer. The bass is clean and deep just what I was after and my god it's powerful! The speakers themselves have a nice clean and clear sound. Brilliant 2.1, worth every penny. No regrets whatsoever and I recommend these highly to anyone who loves loud and bassy music. The base control is very helpful because the parents downstairs hate the rumble so whilst there in I advise you keep them down until there out, ofcourse if you have your own place, there should be no problem. Ignore all the bad reviews the base doesn't overpower the speakers at all! They are just so picky and can't be happy with high quality speakers that'll be hard to find anything that could match it for the price they are at. Don't think about it just buy it! As i'm sure you are made aware of already is the size of the sub, it is massive but that isn't a problem if you slide it in a corner or under the desk. No cons just all pros.
No mid, very limited. May 25, 2010 Mr. James R. Twallin 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The speakers are sooo powerful, particularly the bass. Even at its lowest settings, it supplies more than enough. The satellite speaker supplied are inadequate for the 200W subwoofer. Luckily I had some superior ones spare, so i replaced the logitech speakers supplied.
The whole system is okay, but doesn't really supply much mid frequency sound. Not for Audiophiles (it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed) but more than adequate for a films, or house parties.
I haven't put it on full volume yet, but I have pushed it to the point where the bass was rattling the windows!
Logitech "Beastful Bass Machine" (Subwoofer With a Kick) May 20, 2010 a01910 (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After experiencing the smaller siblings in the Logitech family (Z-4 and Z-523 both 40W), I did not expect nothing less than a Subwoofer that would "kick a door off", from the bigger brother the Z-2300 (200W System).
The Z-2300's were much louder than they looked because despite the size (only 1 and a half times bigger than the Z-4's) they definitely pack a kick of bass that resembles a mini earthquake. The huge heat-sink and the gaping ventilation hole suggested room rattling bass. And that is exactly what I received.
Explosions in Movies were both accurate and set a rather thrilling atmosphere, particularly in games. The powerful yet not overpowering bass on this system more than compensates for what I feel it slightly lacks in looks and the mid range frequencies.
In comparison to its Logitech counterparts (Z-523 and Z-4) the Z-2300's are both louder and powerful and provide more than deep enough bass for your average listener. "Even half the volume could set the tone for a mini party".
The simple, easy to use remote, and the smooth scrolling of the volume dial reminded me this system was definitely a substantial upgrade from its smaller sibling the Z-4, although I did feel the remote wire still remained rather short. However, this is a much more convenient approach than most subwoofers that have the bass knob located at the back (out of reach) of the subwoofer.
The Z-2300's perform exceptionally well and reproduce a wide range of sounds rather accurately. I definitely would recommend these to anyone who wants one of the loudest THX certified 2.1 systems around; it's definitely an impressive Beastful Bass Machine
It does what it says on the box! May 3, 2010 T. M. CARROTT (United-kingdom) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have recently purchased the Logitech Z-2300 Multimedia Speaker System as a birthday present to myself. After much research and having decided on a slightly lesser model at a slightly cheaper price I decided to push the boat out and went for power (200 watts) and chose this model. After all, I want a decent speaker system to go with my Imac and this one ticked all the boxes and all the reviews said so! They were right - it's fantastic and I am more than happy with this purchase. The delivery and packaging it came in was very satisfactory. On taking it out of the box you could see it was well made. Hooking up the system was a breeze - however I had problems trying to get sound out of it. After hooking up I was still getting sound out of the Imac speaker and the two satellite side speakers, but not the sub-woofer. It took me a while to figure it out. I found this experience very frustrating. It meant I was on-line looking at common faults and reading other peoples' reviews about 'no sound coming out of the speakers'. I found other peoples' reviews were largely from three or fours years ago and there wasn't much at this time to suggest that this product had this fault. In the end I found my way into the Imac 'System Preferences' and 'Sound' and 'Input'. I scrolled down to 'Line in' with 'Built-in Input' and selected it. The process was then completed by switching the connection cable at the rear of the computer into the 'Headphones' socket'. Hey presto - sound just boomed out. I turned the volume and base knobs up and saw that what I was hearing was at a low setting and when I upped it up, I daren't go any higher for fear of upsetting the neighbours. There was no distortion - just pure sound to the uncritical ear. I heard some temporary crackling to the left speaker, which I haven't heard since. I was worried that there might be some vibration from the sub-woofer as it wasn't placed on the floor, but on the base shelving of my desk unit - I needn't have worried, there was none. So, if I have any criticism it could have been that there was more information from Logitech helping users connect to their individual computer whether it be an Imac/Mac/PC. Several months on, I love the sound booming out and now that I have sampled itunes for the first time and discovered the joys, but now have the means to select my favourite cd tracks and listen through my computer when I'm doing other things. Overall - a very happy bunny!
