| Customer Reviews:
great solid speakers December 22, 2008 renatone (london, uk) this is my first review although i've been a customer for many years. i bought this product this weekend and i'm very pleased so far. The unit feels solid unlike some i considered buying and the sound quality is great. 2 powerful speakers plus the added bass unit at the back provide great quality sound even at high volumes. the bass and treble can be controlled and it's amazing how playing with them changes the sound dramatically. it's very impressive. the only thing i miss is a way to tell how high or low the treble and bass are. as there is no lcd display there's no way of knowing. i guess you have to play it by ear. the unit is not very heavy and is very well finished. the remote is basic but sufficient. it won't let you go through your library that way but it lets you skip tracks, play and pause and control the volume. all in all is a very good set of speakers and i only didn't give it 5 star cause it lacks an lcd screen and more remote controls but it's fab for the price.
WARNING: DO NOT USE WITH IPOD TOUCH July 3, 2008 Philzee 38 out of 39 found this review helpful
Why Amazon have this thing paired with an Ipod Touch I'll never known - surplus of stock maybe... If you - like me - are just about to buy an Ipod Touch and want a docking station to go with it I recommend you DO NOT buy this one. It works fine (hence the 4 stars - music sound is deep and clear), however, due to the Touch's polished metal back it conducts the electrical charge when sitting in the docking station. Yes, if you go to retrieve or replace it whilst the power is still on prepare yourself for an electric shock - and not a small one either. I was thinking of speaking to the manufacturer but, unlike Amazon, they do not list the Touch as being compatible with this model, therefore they're covered. It works, thanks to the universal Ipod connection, but not safely. I would urge anyone thinking of buying a docking station to check with the manufacturer that it is compatible with Ipod Touch - something Amazon evidently should have done...
