 Great 5.1 surround sound, but one big flaw... July 29, 2010

I brought these headphones after being recommended them by quite a few of my friends at OAPS.
They deliver a huge surround sound effect (I was testing them on 'Batman Dark Knight' only meaning to watch a single chapter on the Blu-ray disk. I ended up watching the whole film!)
The only issue I found is that listening to them at sensible surround sound volumes they do suffer from significant sound leakage, meaning that the idea of two people watching different TV's in the same room is no longer practical.(I previously used some small in ear headphones which suffered from little leakage.)
All in all a great product, but the sound leakage they suffer from is limiting my use of them considerably.

It's all in the title really these headphones are ace for video game junkies like myself. The only annoying thing is the volume control which lights up and cant be turned off, not really needed but hey ho it can also get a little warm but still a great product.

This post is in response to a review comment suggesting the Sharkoon v3 does not have the option to mute all in game chat and, as such, the reviewer had chosen to return the headset for an alternative.
Completely untrue my friend! Approx 12 inches from the headset there is an in-line control unit which not only allows you to control the game volume (either on the whole or individually for any of the 8 speakers in this headset) but also the chat volume.
To mute all game chat simply flick the "mute" switch to kill your own mic and then turn off the volume for other players using the scroll wheel. The whole process takes no more than a second :)

A great headset which gives surround sound and voice comms for PS3.
The sound quality is superb and it is well designed so the wires and surprisingly unobtrusive. Lots of controls of volume etc. so you can set it up exactly as you want. The directionality and sound quality on COD:MW2 and Battlefield BC2 are stunning.
Only 2 downsides so far:
1) You can't hear yourself talk on comms which is a bit disorientating and can lead to you shouting down comms
2) To turn off the SCU you need to unplug it from the mains: there's no power switch
Overall: recommended.
