Apple iPod 1GB December 30, 2009 C. Hart (Herts, England) Absolutedly superb. Goes everywhere with me and gives great entertainment. Only 1 GB but seems to go on forever. Small, easily concealed and therefore safe from being snatched. Very easy to recharge as long as you have itunes on your PC. Only chose silver because it seemed practical but colour is a personal thing. What does matter is the performance and this does it for me!
Rubbish...Avoid December 1, 2009 Zin This thing does not even run properly with the current version of Itunes, it does nothing but freeze up all the time and does not even apply the changes you have made when it comes to trying it.
You cannot even sort your songs into a particular order on the Shuffle itself.
I am not the only one with this problem either as a quick trip to Apple's so called "customer support" area of their website proved.
It's amazing how Apple can respond to my registering of the Shuffle with countless spam e-mails trying to sell me stuff, but they don't have the decency to answer my technical queries via e-mail (sent about 3 months ago and still with no response).
Avoid throwing your money away on this, don't say I didn't warn you!
Best Ipod Shuffle! November 10, 2009 J. Crowder (Bristol, England) This Shuffle, in my opinion, is the best out of the lot! It is better than the first generation, and better than the just released third.
Its weight is small enough to use when running comfortably, but large enough you know where it is. I like the large control wheel on the player, this makes it easy to use when exercising or when reaching into a pocket.
The battery life is great, it could last for hours and hours of exercise and its easy to charge (although a pain to carry the dock around!). I dont really like having to use Itunes to transfer music but I was willing to tolerate this to use the player.
The sound quality is also decent (although not the best) and is nice to listen to whatever you may be up to. Overall, I love this player and wish Apple hadnt taken the controls off the player. If you can still get hold of one... Do it now!
brilliant product November 3, 2009 Mrs. S. K. Pigden I beliive this i-pod shuffle model has been superseded, which is a shame as this tiny, almost weightless product is brilliant to clip on your coat when walking or running....it stores a great number of tracks and this particular one I have just bought for my elderly father as he will not have to carry it around with him
Apple = Quality Media Player... October 11, 2009 Mr. S. D. Camm I now own one of these devices and after some teething problems initially encountered with it, I've really grown to love this item.
At first, I didn't like the way the music files had to be imported to the Shuffle and it took me a while to get used to the iTunes interface, but now I've got into it, it's becoming a really seamless affair simply because I've set it up properly and now find it a very efficient method of adding media.
The main plus side to the iPod Shuffle compared to the other mp3 music devices I've tried and used has to be the sound quality, it's superb. Coupled with the headphones that come with it, I can't fault it for clarity.
The shuffled playback option is a good idea provided that you actually import music files that you truly want to listen to and the battery life is excellent, even with heavy use (and I use it heavily!)
The only minor problem I've had with it so far has been the shuffle option mode that got stuck in that setting once for some reason and I had to reset the device using my PC to correct it. However, I can now switch back and forth without any problems, so I'm not sure whether it was an error on my part.
Overall, I'd say that Apple have engineered a high quality product and I now believe that it's worth the price tag simply because the quality of the iPod Shuffle is self evident to a high degree. 5 stars.
