Simple to set up and very easy to use. This system delivers great sound for a 2.1 and is plenty loud enough to put a smile on your face. I can literally feel the vibrations upstairs when its on downstairs, the woofer adds real punch and makes the whole thing tie together nicely. If you dont want the hassle of wires everywhere, this is probably one of the best 2.1 systems around.

My wife and I were fed up using subtitles to follow TV dialogue. This compact system solved the problem with minimal disturbance. Highly recommended.

Had been after a Blu-ray cinema system for some time, but they were too expensive - this Sony 2.1 set up was on special offer and has proven to be a really good buy. The sound quality is excellent and the set up was very easy - I have a Sony TV and it synched after minimal fuss. It obviously does not have the rear speakers for true surround, but that can wait for a few years until the kids have grown up and wireless technology has improved. On the visual side, the difference between old DVD and Blu-ray HD is amazing - crystal clear pictures which gets the value out of your HD ready TV. Don't think you can ever go wrong with Sony products.

I bought a Pioneer DVD player from another company and wasn't impressed with the sound and picture quality. Then I ordered this last week and I was initially under the impression that it was an all in one system - but it is essentially 2 separate items in 1 box - Sony blueray player BDPS350 and the home cinema surround kit, HT FS1. An optical cable is included for connecting both of them. You can also connect a HDMI cable and with a SONY bravia TV, it allows one to set up Bravia sync - which I haven't tried yet as I am awaiting the delivery of HDMI cable. The tall subwoofer also has amplifier in 1 box making it a bit bulky.
However both the picture as well as the sound quality are very good indeed. I haven't tried a blue-ray disc yet but the quality of standard DVD discs including DVD-Rs is very good. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase of this.
