5 out of 5 stars Slow starter   May 26, 2010
GrooveBox (Bristol, UK)
Whilst in general I'm very happy with the set-up and quality of this product my biggest gripe is with how incredibly SLOW this is.

From pressing the power button you have to endure 20 seconds of "Please Wait" on the display until it'll deign to respond to the remote. Pressing the open button (Note no "eject" button on the remote) takes another couple of seconds to respond. And then begins the interminable wait for a blu-ray movie to start. I've not been nerdy enough to actually time it, but it must be over 30 seconds before the disc plays. What with all the copyright warnings on the disc, trailers etc. you'll have time to go and make some fresh pop-corn before the movie will be ready to start.

Note I've never tried any other make or model of blu-ray player. Perhaps they're all like this.

5 out of 5 stars Blown away!   April 25, 2010

The SC-BT200EB-K 5.1 system was easy to set up and more importantly had simply instructions on how to obtain and install the latest and future firmware updates. Since installation I haven't found a single DVD or BluRay that it won't play. Reproduction is seamless and sound is great. It took a little while to hide the cables for the rear speakers but the automatic sound balancing, using the microphone provided, was brilliant. The sound reproduction is good and I can tell you that if you play a disaster movie, like 2012, the power of the system will blow you away - you can make the room shake!

I bought this product after reading numerous reviews and am very pleased with it. Easy to use, great quality & stylish unit & the speakers are not obtrusive. Definitely recommend.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!   April 21, 2010

Bought this unit with my first flat screen TV in Apr 10. I am not TV enthusiast but wanted a great sound to match a great picture from the G10B Panasonic TV I bought at the same time. Set up is a doddle, (you need an optical cable to get the best sound) although I havent scattered the speakers to every corner of the house and to be honest I dont see why people bother - the sound is amazing just leaving them near the TV. Blu Ray is another league to DVD, but I personally find its hard to tell the difference unless the film was made for Blu Ray then wow its amazing. You wont be disappointed

5 out of 5 stars Panasonic BT200 nice bit of kit   March 31, 2010

This is a really nice bit of kit, the sound is very good I bought it as a replacement for a Sony home cinema system which I thought had good sound but this is better. It plays Bluray very well, other good features are the built in Ipod adapter which lets you play the Ipod through it with on screen menus, also the SD memory card slot lets you view all your hol snaps!! in full screen mode. Only downside is it takes 20 seconds to boot up when you turn it on and, it is quite slow when you switch from one input to another. Otherwise well pleased.
